Human Development Program (HDP) is a non-Government Development Organization working with people in rural and urban areas of Bangladesh. It came into existence in 4th January 1982 in response to the perceived need of the locality by the initiative a team of social workers with a view to alleviate poverty and enhancement of security and dignity of target people through capacity building and empowerment.

| Structure of HDP |

A General Board and an Executive Committee govern HDP- Bangladesh. The General Board consists of 21 members with the different professionals like Social Workers, Farmers, School Teachers, Businessmen, Local elites etc. Representation of the landless groups is also ensured. There is an Executive Committee consisting of seven members. The General Board members select the Executive Committee members. In fact Executive Committee helps the Secretary General to carryout the programs of HDP-Bangladesh. The Secretary General is responsible for implementing the development activities that gets suggestions & guidance from the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee use to hold Meeting regular bi-monthly to review the activities and progress of the organization or when it needed |

The working areas of the HDP cover 72 villages of 31 unions under 12 Upzailas under Dhaka, Narayangonj, Tangail, Gazipur, Mymensingh districts under Dhaka Division.
